The glass beads are hand-sewn, one by one, directly onto the hat. The flower is also hand-crafted using the Chanhua technique in Stavroula Spyrou's atelier.
The art of wrapped flowers originated in ancient China, during the Ming Dynasty and arrived in the Qing Dynasty. Chanhua is a traditional folk craft and one of China's national intangible cultural heritages.
